There’s new Ray Wylie Hubbard, y’all. Raised in Dallas and currently based in Wimberley, this Texas troubadour is back with his sixteenth studio album since his 1976 solo record debut.
Now at age 70, Hubbard is set to release the latest full-length, Tell the Devil I’m Gettin’ There as Fast as I Can. The eleven songs highlight Hubbard’s self-production that particularly shine on tracks with special guests like Patty Griffin and Bright Light Social Hour. The slow-burning title track features Eric Church and Lucinda Williams for a devilish vocal tour-de-force.
Tell The Devil I’m Gettin’ There As Fast As I Can comes out Friday, August 18th. You can pre-order the album now or listen to Ray Wylie Hubbard here on KUTX.org.
