Soccer Mommy: “Henry”

Over the course of 9 months, Sophie Allen has released four albums under the moniker Soccer Mommy, and her latest release, For Young Hearts, reflects the experience and energy of someone who’s dropped 21 songs in under a year. The album itself is reflective, emoting over the heartache we experience when we’re young that we never quite forget. “Henry” is pure indie rock clearly inspired by the laid-back sound of the early-to-mid 2000s (think Frou Frou meets Dear and the Headlights). “Henry”‘s warm guitar tones; delicate, understated vocals; and relaxed tempo coalesce into a mellow head-bopper of a tune.

“Henry” appears on For Young Hearts, out now via Orchid Tapes.
