On Saturday, December 10, the Hole In The Wall hosts the 8th annual Grapes & Friends Christmas Extravaganza. This is one of Austin’s more unusual holiday traditions, something of a comedy-music-visual-drinking free-for-all (isn’t that what we all want from Christmas parties?). The Grapes & Friends house band is a local pop-rock supergroup, featuring members of Genuine Leather, Gorgeous Hands, Dangeresque, and BGold. In addition to rowdy renditions of holiday favorites, they also throw in a few originals, like today’s Song of the Day. “Christmas Crush” is a full-on yacht-rock explosion, spiking the egg nog with ’70s excess and good spirit.
