Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Announces 2018 Nominees

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced the nominees for the class of 2018. 19 artists and groups make-up this year’s potential roster, with nine being first-time candidates. That list is outfitted with Kate Bush, Nina Simone, Eurythmics, Judas Priest, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Dire Straits, Moody Blues, Radiohead and Rage Against the Machine; the last two are eligible for the first time this year, marking the 25th anniversary Rage’s self-titled debut album and Radiohead’s Pablo Honey. The rest of list is made up of veteran nominees including Depeche Mode, the Zombies, LL Cool J, and Bon Jovi, and J. Geils Band. Fan voting begins today, and the Roll Hall will reveal its final list of 2018 inductees in December.

Andrew W.K. Reveals Party Time Taco Guitar

If you didn’t know, not that the culture of Austin would let you forget, yesterday was National Taco Day, and in celebration of the smile-inducing nosh, Andrew W.K. revealed his newest party food instrument creation: a taco guitar. Made by ESP and handpainted by Andrew W.K. himself, the front features a crispy beef taco with the backside being home to a human eye. He recently announced his first album in 8 years set to be released in March of next year. Known for his “party time” platform, Andrew W.K. had this to say about the follow-up to his pizza guitar, “I started pondering what’s another food that’s as party as pizza? When it comes to edible celebration, tacos are partier than almost anything else.” You can check out pictures and a making-of video here.
