Cease, Diciest, Destroy. Tough Luck, for Carseat Headrest

Carseat Headrest’s new album Teens of Denial, comes out on May 20th. Unfortunately, it’s only getting a digital release on that date due to a slight legal mishap over, what else, but copyright issues. The band’s song “Just What I Wanted/Not Just What I Needed,” features parts of the Cars song, “Just What I Needed”- apparently a little too many parts. Carseat Headrest has been ordered to not only recall all tangible copies of the album, but to destroy them as well. A release date for the “legalized” version of the album has not been set.

Matt the Electrician on His Latest Project

Austin’s Matt the Electrician is deep into his current project surrounding his new album: releasing a series of 7-inch singles, each featuring a special guest, the latest featuring Dana Falconberry. As Matt the Electrician gets deeper into this project that he says will take two years to complete from when it began last October, he’s finding that while the venture isn’t exactly cost-effective, it is gaining interest, and he’s finding it rewarding nonetheless. The album is sold as a box set, so those who purchase the album will get to see it build over the two-year period. Matt the Electrician and Dana Falconberry will be performing together tonight at the Cactus Café.
