Radiohead New and Pink Floyd Re-new

Big day in the British Rock world. After days of teasing, Radiohead released another new song and music video this morning and announced that their 9th album (we still don’t know what it’s called) is arriving on Sunday. Meanwhile, Pink Floyd is launching a massive vinyl reissue campaign on its own record label. And it’s all been set in motion for quite some time. The first set of releases comes out on June 3rd, and will be the group’s first four full-length releases: 1967’s The Piper at the Gates of Dawn through 1969’s Ummagumma double-LP. The rest of their discography will be released at regular intervals throughout the rest of the year.

All Tomorrow Parties Becomes a Party of Tomorrow

The anti-corporate All Tomorrow’s Parties festival that’s hosted everyone from Patti Smith to Belle and Sebastian to Iggy Pop seems to be simultaneously spinning its wheels in the mud while digging itself a deeper and darker hole. Last month, promoter Barry Hogan had to cancel the festival for the second time in 18 months. This was after the location had already been relocated from Wales to Manchester. All of the groups UK news source The Guardian spoke to unanimously claimed the planning had been a mess for months. Hogan had stalled so long on booking flights for the bands that some booked their own, but were never reimbursed, and just a week before the festival was supposed to happen, Hogan apparently hadn’t given any down payment to the Manchester venue. Ultimately, it seems that Barry Hogan’s lack of business knowledge and solid financial backing is catching up with his passion for the festival.
