Chance the Rapper Gives Even More to Chicago Schools

Public school students in Chicago are returning to the classrooms this week, this year will a little bit of extra help from local celebrity and humanitarian Chance the Rapper. Chance has donated $2.2 million to Chicago public schools through his SocialWorks charity, giving a total of 20 schools $100,000 each over the next three years. The schools were chosen based on underfunded arts programs and recent budget cuts, and Chance worked with the principals of each school to ensure the donation will be used to fit each institution’s specific needs.

Charles Bradley Cancels Tour to Undergo Cancer Treatment

Daptone Records cornerstone Charles Bradley announced today that he is cancelling the rest of his tour to undergo further treatment for the stomach cancer he survived last year that has now sadly spread to his liver. Bradley was scheduled to tour throughout North and South America and Europe through the rest of the year, including a stop near Austin in November for Sound on Sound Fest. Bradley said in a statement, “I love all of you out there that made my dreams come true. When I come back, I’ll come back strong, with God’s love. With God’s will, I’ll be back soon.”
