Every Saturday night, 1-2 a.m., Soundfounder plays electronic and beat music from Austin and around the world, focusing on new releases and old classics. This week’s show features a guest mix and interview with Eric Hilton. As one half of the Washington, D.C. duo Thievery Corporation, Hilton has been at the forefront of expanding electronic music’s boundaries, exploring dub, jazz, bossa nova, Indian classical music, and more. Recently, he released his debut solo album, Infinite Everywhere, and he talks to Soundfounder about his process and collaborators and ends with a guest mix of influences. Also, Soundfounder remembers the late electronic pioneer Simeon Cox of Silver Apples, offers up a Four Tet remix of Tame Impala, and more.
