Alex Napping 7.24.17

Austin-based quartet, Alex Napping, has been pumping out indie-pop jams since 2013; their sound is groovy and deeply personal. The group’s latest release, Mise En Place, ditches their guitar-forward aesthetic for more elaborate, textured arrangements. Their sophomore effort is both sonically and emotionally sophisticated; focusing on lead Alex Cohen’s musings on a formative relationship and the struggle between expectations and realities of love. The name Mise En Place, those laid out portions seen so often on cooking shows, is an ironic nod to the idea  that life has a way of bringing chaos to even our best laid plans. The four friends came through Studio 1A to spin some gentle yarns, and get a bit groovy ahead of their show at Mohawk. Check out the full session below and then go see them for yourself!
