Andrew York knows guitar, in an all-encompassing sense of the word “know”. With hints of multiple genres permeating his compositions, such as folk and jazz, York stands as a visionary in the field of classical guitar. Having extensively studied music composition and classical guitar, Andrew York holds two degrees – a BA in Classical Guitar Composition and a Master of Music from the University of Southern California. With a slew of recordings (including his latest double album, Yamour) and books under his belt, York has written and performed as a solo artist, in duos, trios, quartets, and ensembles. His work ranges from “challenging to simple yet highly musical”, presented in a way that is accessible yet always fresh and exciting.
