Austin Groove Project 9.5.18

The Austin Groove Project is the collaboration of some of Austin’s best home grown talent. Led by the soulful voice and guitar of Jackie Venson alongside The Peterson Brothers Glenn and Alex on guitar and bass respectively and Michael Gonzales on drums, the group came together recently to play the upcoming Waterloo Music Festival this weekend. While the group only formed recently, they’ve played together for years in jams and rehearsals around Austin. The Austin Groove Project is an amalgamation of local talent also including Tameca Jones, D Madness, Alesia Lani, and Jon Keyz representing the rich musical roots of the city. As the name suggests, the Austin Groove Project has a groovy sound with broad musical range from the Reggae driven Don’t Lie to Me, the lively Funk sound of Give Me Your Love, to the Blues-y Whatchamacallit. You can jam out with The Austin Groove Project this Friday at the Waterloo Music Festival.
