The Austin Piazzolla Quintet was founded in 2009 by violinist James Anderson. The group specializes in the music of Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla. In the Summer of 2011, the quintet released their first studio album to much local acclaim. Austin Piazzolla Quintet is made up of five musical virtuosos: James Anderson on violin, pianist and composer Jonathan Greer, Mike Maddux who plays piano and accordion, bassist, songwriter, composer and arranger Pat Harris, and Tony Rogers on cello. Togther they have been playing across Austin and San Antonio for over five years.
