Austin’s own singer-songwriter and fiddler Carrie Rodriguez‘s take on Americana can play like a finely aged tune.
A graduate of the Berklee School of Music, Carrie Rodriguez, the self-described collaborator, has worked with the likes of Chip Taylor, Bill Frisell, Luke Jacobs, Mary Gauthier, and Gary Louris of the Jayhawks thus farm having embarked on her solo career in 2006 after releasing four duet albums with songwriter Chip Taylor. Rodriguez’s music increasingly follows her clear and cool vocals, a touch of country, folk, and roots rock accompanying her always impressive fiddle work. Her last release was a collaborative live recording with her latest musical partner Luke Jacobs out of Austin’s very own Cactus Café in 2014.
You can watch Carrie Rodriguez performing live at the Cactus Café on April 18th and you can stream her music right here on KUTX.
