When you first see Christine Albert and Chris Gage play music together, it’s easy to see that they have what any great duo needs: chemistry. The pair has been playing together since 1997, and since then they’ve released six albums together. (The fact that they’re also a couple off-stage doesn’t hurt the whole chemistry thing.) Both Albert and Gage have been playing music in Austin for a while, and have pretty impressive resumes to their names. Albert’s sweet voice has been regarded as one of the best in Austin, being featured on a variety of outlets from her own hybrid Texafrance albums to Blue Bell Ice Cream commercials. Meanwhile, Gage is a talented multi-instrumentalist who has played for a variety of bands and artists including Roy Clark and Jimmie Dale Gilmore. He also appeared with some of those acts on the Tonight Show and Late Night.
On Saturday, the duo will play a show at Donn’s Depot. Today, they’ll stop by KUTX to record a live session in Studio 1a. The product of that session will be posted here later today!
