Courtney Barnett can make the most mundane story into a gripping tale. Known for her witty, rambling lyrics sung in her trademark deadpan style, the Melbourne-based singer-songwriter channels the likes of David Crosby and Bob Dylan with her 60’s style psychedelic, folk, and country music.
Barnett’s exposure has reached well beyond her Australian fanbase and expanded to the international scope since the release of her double-EP A Sea of Split Peas and a well-received performance at the 2013 CMJ Music Marathon. With recent recognition and critical acclaim from Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, and The New York Times, Barnett has announced the completion of her debut full-length, due for release in early 2015.
