Darkbird is making no-frills, no-nonsense, good ol’ fashion rock and boy are they good at it. Formed in 2015 by singer/songwriter Kelly Barnes and lead guitarist Brian Cole; the group now stands at five strong, all of whom share the same uncompromising vision for their sound. Their 2015 debut release, I Remember Feeling My Fingers Slip, showcased Darkbird’s attitude and edge. The group blends sharp, intense instrumentals with Barnes’ emotionally wrought vocals to tell moody tales of cruel love and deep heartache. They find beauty in sadness but don’t dwell on it. The band is set to release a 7″ Vinyl featuring two new singles later this month, with an accompanying release show at Barracuda.
