Longtime Austin musician, Don Leady is back with a new band called the Rockin’ Revue. Former guitarist for The LeRoi Brothers, if you’re familiar with Leady you know what to expect: good ol’ visceral rock n’ roll catharsis. After spending some time playing strictly roots and jazz music, the new project marks Leady’s return to his rock n’ roll roots. There’s certainly blues and some western swing flavor, but Leady and his Rockin’ Revue rock harder than roots purists would ever allow. Their debut LP Poppy Toppy Gone comes out on April 15th, and it captures all the gruff energy of their live shows without compromising any bit of fidelity.
