Ellie Shattles has taken her mesmerizing mezzo-soprano vocals from the Aspen Opera Theatre to the finals at the Houston Grand Opera Eleanor McCollum competition, and now she is making her mark in the Live Music Capitol of the World. Apart from her busy performing schedule in Austin, Shattles also teaches private vocal lessons where she specializes in various techniques, including musical theatre, jazz, opera, rock and pop, as well as vocal healing. Her next stop? The Austin Symphony Orchestra. Shattles will be performing at the “Triple Delight” Season Opener for the Austin Symphony Orchestra’s 109th season at the Long Center’s Dell Hall this Friday (9/13) and Saturday (9/14) at 8 PM.

Shattles stopped by Studio 1A to serenade us with what host John Aielli calls “the darker, richer chocolate voice of sopranos” before she takes the stage at the Long Center. Listen to her live performance below!
