Food Group, a psych-inspired band out of Austin, crafts a unique sound using acoustic instruments in an experimental form.
Influenced by jazz, pop, and drone music, Food Group is an acoustic endeavor that occasionally meanders into electronic territory, their music a laid back and lush hybrid of chamber pop and indie rock. Comprised of Eric Lyday on vocals and guitars, Luis Rangel on bass and vocals, Chris Donahue and Wiley Greene on keyboards, and Jeff Olson on drums, the band’s last release, Echo Location, is a self-described “tone poem about relationships and vicissitude of modern romance” that proves to be a glistening listen.
