Gary Louris founded the influential Minnapolis-based alt-folk band The Jayhawks with bandmate Mark Olson in 1985, and he has since embarked on a successful solo career. Though The Jayhawks broke up in 2005, Louris toured with Olson, also a successful solo artist, briefly for an acoustic tour. Louris released his first solo album “Vagabonds” in 2008, following it up with an acoustic version a year later. Throughout his 30-year career, Louris has worked with a number of renowned musicians, including The Dixie Chicks, Joe Henry, Lucinda Williams, and Carrie Rodriguez. His music has been described as “recapturing the 70s,” and he performed live in our studio on Saturday, July 20, which you can listen to right here!
