Gurf Morlix @ KUTX 03.13.2015

Gurf Morlix, the unusually named Austin-based musician, conjures up an authentic and affecting world through his music.

The Austin Music Hall of Fame-inductee, multi-instrumentalist, producer, vocalist, and songwriter has been creating various iterations of Americana and roots rock, both for himself and behind the scenes, since the 1980’s. Known for the clear simplicity of his sound and the challenging depth of his stories that utilize his stark writing and gritty voice, Morlix has worked with the likes of Lucinda Williams, Robert Earl Keen, Slaid Cleaves, Patty Griffin, Buddy Miller, Mary Gauthier, Tom Russell, and Ray Wylie Hubbard. Eatin’ At Me, his latest and eighth solo release, continues to paint the portrait of a dark and grim world, beckoning his audience to lean in closer.
