It’s been five years since Jason Isbell left Alabama for Tennessee and he’s already deeply rooted in the Nashville music scene. His latest release The Nashville Sound is an Americana soaked tribute to his adopted home; the album, much like the city and the man, walks that fine line between country and rock. It is his boldest, most emotionally wrought work to date. The songs cover everything from life with his young daughter, to the political landscape of modern America. All strung together by his harsh, rasping voice and the strong instrumentals from his backing band The 400 Unit.
