Who is John Doe?
No, were not referring to that placeholder name you see on the news.
This is John Doe, most notably known for the formation of the acclaimed L.A. punk band, X. The rocker has appeared on over 50 film and television productions as well as numerous collaborations with artists such as Patty Griffin, Dan Auerbach, Aimee Mann, Don Was, Kathleen Edwards and Greg Liesz. The list goes on and on. During X’s temporary disintegration, Doe concentrated on acting and slowly began a quiet, but fertile solo career in a country-rock style. Punk was out of the picture.
Currently he continues to tour both as a solo artist and as a member of X. We had the pleasure of having him live on Friday, January 2015 here at KUTX’s Studio 1a, where he performed a beautiful rendition of Bob Dylan’s song “Pressing On”. You can stream his performance right here through KUTX.
