John Gorka at KUTX 12.5.13

John Gorka’s warm baritone and original compositions have carried him from humble beginnings as a soundman in a Pennsylvania venue to a world renowned folk singer-songwriter. During his college days in Pennsylvania, Gorka began focusing on his own music, soon after winning first place at the 1984 Kerrville Folk Festival. Flash forward to 2013 and John Gorka is now 11 studio albums deep. An additional 2010 collaboration record with Eliza Gilkyson and Lucy Kaplansky, titled Red Horse, quickly scaled its way to the top of the Billboard Folk Charts.
