After producing for Father John Misty and touring the globe with Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters, Jonathan Wilson released his third solo album Rare Birds in 2018 to critical acclaim, with NPR Music calling it “cosmic and chillingly immediate.” His forthcoming follow up, So Alive, was recorded at the legendary Cowboy Jack Clement’s Sound Emporium Studio in Nashville and finds Wilson going back to his roots. Paying homage to the country, bluegrass, and Americana music he grew up loving, So Alive captures Wilson’s trademark sonic density in a new light.
Jonathan Wilson stopped by Studio 1A on September 21 on the heels of the release of the title track off his forthcoming album So Alive. Check out the session below.
