Josh T. Pearson & Jonathan Terrell 9.27.17

Josh T. PearsonJonathan Terrell are a mean singer-songwriter duo and they’re getting together for one night only to spin yarns and break hearts. Lone Star native Josh T. Pearson is an illusive creature, a man of mystery. He is best known as the frontman for Lift to Experience; who released one sprawling, epic masterpiece The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads in 2001 before quietly dissolving in the praise that followed. In the years since Pearson has lived in the wilderness, played in a Parisian nightclub band and plucked out quiet sets in Berlin. Pearson’s ruminative country-folk has a sense of the unscripted, every show feels like a unique aligning of stars; heard once and then never again. Jonathan Terrell was born in the back of a trailer, deep in the woods of East Texas so he’s got roots-country flowing through his veins. Terrell has since set up camp right here in Austin and steadily released music since his debut in 2008. His latest Ep, Color Me Lucky, stays true to his resonant, gritty Americana style. It is a deeply moving and gorgeous country for the modern world. We were lucky enough to have the duo stop into Studio 1A to preview their performance this Saturday at the Cactus Cafe. Missed the live session? We’ve got you covered below!
