One thing that makes Julia Lucille so great is how she honestly and genuinely borrows from so many styles. On its face, her new album Chthonic is a collection of slow grooves, each with its own flavor and energy. Dig a little deeper and we hear traces of everything from the clean guitar sounds of traditional central Texas country to the dreamy synth-laden atmospheres common in post-rock styles. Combine that with her borderline poetic lyrics and you have a sound carefully crafted to create an introspective and intimate listening experience. Julia stopped by Studio 1A to show us some of the tracks off of her new album, check it out below!
