Paducah, KY’s Legendary Shack Shakers have been blasting out their brand of rock ’n roll since the mid-1990’s. In their twenty years, they’ve traveled through many worlds of southern music, from country, rockabilly, and blues. Their latest record, Southern Surreal, released last year by Jello Biafra’s Alternative Tentacles records, builds upon their southern sound, combining it with the energy and iconoclastic eccentricity of their label mates. Legendary Shack Shakers came by Studio 1A on January 12th and shared some of their new songs.
