Leopold and his Fiction 6.4.14

When you are in the midst of Leopold and his Fiction its not hard to feel the raw energy and power abounding from Daniel James (lead vocalist and guitarist) and the rest of his rock ‘n’ roll band. Daniel James even described the energy himself saying, “The band elicits a power when it’s time to perform that is unable to be harnessed in any other medium short of a fist fight.” The band, led by detroit native James, finds its origins in collaborations made traveling between San Francisco, LA and Austin. Combining visions and styles of musicians James found along the way, Leopold and his Fiction became an outlet for him to release the energy he could not find in his alt-country folk rock act Cowboy and Indian with sounds similar to the ’73 Stooges and hints of the rhythm and blues of Mo-town. After recently playing alongside names like The Cult and ZZ Top, Leopold and his Fiction returns to Austin in the month of June to perform at the Moody Theatre on the 30th.
