Four-piece outfit Making Movies are known for putting on a tight and confident set, equally fun and thoughtful.
Based out of Kansas City and formed by brothers Enrique and Diego Chi, Making Movies creates a bi-lingual groove that combines the musical traditions of Panama, Mexico, and the United States, propelling each of them forward. Injecting psychedelic turns into their Afro-Latin rhythms, the band, named after Dire Straits’ third album, also delivers compelling stories, remaining socially conscious in their music, as well as their community involvement through various projects. Their album A La Deriva, featuring a collection of shifting song structures and rich instrumentation, was released in 2013 and produced by Steve Berlin of Los Lobos.
You can catch Making Movies’ live show at Lamberts on April 23rd and you can stream their music right here on KUTX.
