Matt the Electrician 2.10.20

A name as plain as his own says exactly what Matt the Electrician is all about: finding the beauty, catharsis, and tragedy in everyday life. Matt Sever began true to his moniker; in the mid 1990’s, he moved to Austin from the West Coast and relied on the income from fiddling with wires in the summer heat. At night he would mount the stage in his dirty work boots and drenched jumper. He introduced himself by his day job to explain his uncouth appearance. Throughout more than two decades living in Austin, Matt has released a steady stream of poignant folk, including 2017’s collaborative The Doubles. Hear him perform two unreleased tracks in addition to the most recent single “Thank You” with John Aielli!

You can catch Matt with his full band Feb. 12 at the Long Center!
