Rolling in to Texas from his hometown of Birmingham, Matthew Mayfield carries with him a guitar and a conviction for his craft. His vocal talent steers low in the register, where Mayfield cashes in on the gravel his voice kicks into each song. On his newly released track “Desire”, Mayfield’s voice swims deep, just between a driving pulse as the song pushes in and out in a Coldplay nature of depth. He has dates starred across the state this month, with a session in KUTX’s Studio 1A, and at Uncle Billy’s BBQ Sunday September 26 with KUTX.
