MilkDrive 6.8.16

Austin string quartet MilkDrive is what happens when the progressive stylings of the Punch Brothers meets the roots of traditional Texas bluegrass. Praised for transforming Austin’s burgeoning bluegrass scene, the group is making waves with a steady blend of bluegrass, jazz, and americana – a genre they call “jazzgrass.” The group’s versatility and technical skills go unmatched as band members Noah Jeffries, Dennis Ludiker, and Brian Beken regularly switch off between fiddles, mandolins and guitars. The group’s self-produced third studio album Places You’ve Been Not was released back in March and is available for listening now. As for the full experience, you can catch MilkDrive at the Cactus Cafe this Saturday night, June 10th.

Milkdrive brought their dexterous playing and southern warmth to Studio1A this afternoon. Listen to the performance down below.
