There are no vocals necessary in My Education’s musical teachings. Formed in 1999 in Austin, Texas, My Education has seen a dozen members move through their ranks; thickening up their post-rock sound and expanding their musical horizons. Their instrumental, experimental rock creates cinematic landscapes and psychedelic atmospheres; one can’t help but imagine the surface of Mars, endless deserts and churning oceans. It is music on a grander scale. Their latest release Schiphol is their most dramatic and sonically mature album to date. Drenched in droning guitar, heavy bass and melodic viola, the album is inspired by their experiences while touring; they are tracks steeped in wanderlust.
