Minneapolis group On An On is a bit of an enigma. The group’s new album And the Waves Has Two Sides encapsulates the energy of Michael Jackson era 80s dance pop and the aesthetic of the most idyllic of movie montages. Simultaneously, the record settles into a mellow melancholy, only occasionally illustrating a glimpse of glittery optimism – courtesy of Alissa Ricci on keys. And the Waves Has Two Sides was released last year on Roll Call Records (El Ten Eleven, Geographer) and now the trio is touring the United States in anticipation for their upcoming hiatus.
