Singer-Songwriter Pete Yorn blew through Studio 1A on Monday to play a mix of new singles, fan requests, and classics from his catalog ahead of his evening acoustic show at The Parish. His new tour: An Evening with Pete Yorn: You and Me supports his most recent releases including the reunion EP Apart which features past collaborator Scarlett Johansson. With a career that began almost twenty years ago with the release of his critically and commercially acclaimed debut album, musicforthemorningafter, Yorn is showing no sign of slowing down.

With this new set of dates, Yorn is looking to re-examine why he started playing music in the first place and solidify the intimate relationship he has with the audience each night. He talks about the improvisational nature of his acoustic shows, and some of his earliest influences which ranged from heavy metal acts to The Cure and The Smiths. After a long-lived career of writing, touring, and performing songs, Yorn doesn’t skip a beat- launching into songs old and new filling this Studio 1A session with his signature wistful and melancholic trademark tunes.
