Talented singer-songwriter and musician Raina Rose is known for her unique voice and exceptional guitar playing, making for some truly extraordinary Americana music. Rose was born in LA, but after moving to the Oregon coast to teach environmental science to kids, the beautiful solitude of the environment made her realize she wanted to make music. She recorded a few solo albums in Portland between 2006 and 2009, after which she moved to Austin and recorded 2010’s “When May Came”. Her soulful, lyrically compelling music is worth a listen, and can be heard on her most recent album “Caldera”.
You can catch Rose’s CD Release show at the legendary Cactus Café this Thursday, June 13th. She was also in our studio Wednesday, June 12, and you can listen Rose’s unique blend of twang and jazziness from her studio performance right here!
