Rayland Baxter 4.1.19

After Rayland Baxter took the stage at Stubbs this weekend, he was kind enough to stop by Studio 1A to chat with KUTX’s Jay Trachtenberg about memorable shows, his latest album, and Austin’s notorious pollen. The Nashville native found solitude and a creative spark in an old rubber band factory in Franklin, Kentucky. This calculated move gave Baxter the necessary seclusion and freedom to create. His latest album, Wide Awake, is out now on ATO Records. The lyrics discuss the crossroads many of us find ourselves on in life with a soulful sound. A man known for always being on the road, Baxter headed off to Flordia after his studio session with us. Before he left, he played a few extra songs for us, which you can listen too below.
