Redd Volkaert, originally hailing from British Columbia-Canada, has been a master of hypnotic foot-tapping Country tunes since the late 1980’s. Known for his role in 1997 as lead guitarist in Merle Haggard’s country band, The Strangers, Redd has henceforth  amassed his own following through consistent swinging riffs and heartfelt melodies. Redd has even played with the likes of Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, and Dolly Parton!

Having moved to Austin in 2003, Redd has has played just about everywhere. From larger places like ACL Live, to more intimate affairs such as the Saxon Pub, Redd has a way of transforming his home-styled plucks and strums into a wonderful live setting. Just recently Redd had a performance for the Alamo Christmas Bazaar at the Palmer Events Center, supporting 12 different non-profit organizations across Austin.

If you’re interested in seeing Redd Volkeart live in town, you can catch him Saturday afternoons, 3:30 PM, at the Continental Club, where he’s been playing his Volk-HEART out since 2001.
