Saintseneca at KUTX 4.8.14

Columbus, Ohio band, Saintseneca classify themselves as folk, but as is the case with many bands, one genre doesn’t really sum them up. There’s certainly folk elements there, but there’s also traces of post-punk, grunge, and psychedelic-rock. In addition, little touches of Turkish Baglama, balalaika, dulcimer, flute, mandolin, etc. intermixed among electric guitar and synth help make the band’s thumbprint what it is, all their own. Freshly out with their sophomore album, Dark Arc (April 1, 2014), the group’s been praised by many smaller indie publications for their dark, poetic lyrics imbued with themes of loneliness and solitude and set to interesting pop musical arrangements.
