Austin-based musician Shane Cooley serves up a blend of folk and rock, bringing the past and the present together.
Writing songs since the age of 13 and receiving accolades from quite a few songwriting competitions, Cooley has been a relentless tourer since he started up in 2008. A blend of folk and old school rock ‘n’ roll with just a light touch of Americana, Cooley’s music is unadorned and direct. His soon to be released new album Kings Highway, which was written in Austin, sees Cooley more confident in his delivery, picking up the pace and producing a more tonally rich sound. Cooley himself decribed the process of putting the record together as “coloring outside the lines,” saying “instead of avoiding weird, we were looking for it.”
You can watch Shane Cooley perform live at the Spider House Ballroom on February 27th or stream his music right here on KUTX.
