“Grim Town is a dystopia that I’ve created in my brain: me on the inside, processed into a pretend location,” says Bridie Monds-Watson, aka SOAK, about the concept behind her critically acclaimed sophomore album, Grim Town. While her debut was conceived in an era of innocence, Grim Town examines the reality of what happens after one enters adulthood, covering subjects ranging from long-distance love and depression to social anxiety of the changing modern landscape, delivered with Watson’s unwavering honesty.
The multi-prize winning Irish musician stopped by Studio 1A on her radio promotion tour to play some tracks off of the new record and chat with KUTX host Laurie Gallardo. Check out the live performance below!
