Born in 1948 in Memphis, Tennessee, Soul Man Sam lives up to the legendary city’s self-proclaimed title: “Home of Blues, Soul, and Rock n’ Roll”. Developing his vocal talent in church and honing his craft at bars on the legendary Beale Street, Soul Man Sam rapidly became a force to be reckoned with. After moving to Austin for his wife’s job in 2011, Soul Man Sam was enthusiastically embraced by the Austin community, regularly performing at landmark venues such as Antone’s, C-Boys and the Continental Club.

Currently, Soul Man Sam and the SMS Band are gearing up to play the legendary Eastside Kings Fest, and stopped by Studio1A to give us a sneak peek! Listen to the live performance below, and make sure to catch their festival set at Full Circle Bar on Saturday, 9/14 at 7 PM.
