The Band of Heathens at KUTX 12.18.13

The Band of Heathens naturally formed as the result of Colin Brooks, Gordy Quist and Ed Jurdi all playing at the same Austin venue — the now closed Momo’s to be exact. Little by little the three singer-songwriters would sit in during one another’s sets, eventually creating a collective show which they called the Good Time Supper Club. Made up by Brooks, Quist and Jurdi with a solid rhythm section, the Good Time Supper Club went from an organic collaboration project to an unstoppable rock band in a flash.

Now called The Band of Heathens (thanks to a misprint in the local paper) with , the band plays good ol’ fashioned roots rock worthy of its Austin birthplace. The local Heathens recently stopped by Studio 1A for a live performance that you can listen to right here and now! You can also hear the band on their latest release, Sunday Morning Record, or as they perform live at the Saxon Pub December 19!
