“The original traditional Irish folk band, as far as anyone who came of age in the 1970s or ’80s is concerned, is The Chieftains.” That they were able to popularize music with bagpipes, layered with fiddle, flute, tin whistle, and bodhrán is indicative of the group’s true virtuoso. For although the sound is beautiful and awesome (in the truest sense of the word), the music seems to come from another space and time in history. We loved being transported to another space and time in our mind’s eye by the six time Grammy winners, The Chieftains Wednesday February 26! Listen to the recording RIGHT HERE!
