The Finest Kind at KUTX 8.7.13

The Finest Kind is a soul and R&B rhythm section from right here in Austin, Texas. They’re probably best known for performing as a backing band for Austin’s own Erin Ivey on her acclaimed album “Broken Gold,” released in 2012. These guys haven’t slowed down since then, and on August 6th, they released their album “Colors,” which features a wide range of the band’s signature R&B groovin’ tunes. Not only are they releasing their album, but their lead singer, Christopher Edwards, has teamed up with Austin-based film maker Rich Striebel to make a short film that corresponds with three songs on the “Colors” album – in a way, the film can be viewed as three separate music videos, but they go together to create a unique short film experience. They’re currently raising money for the project on Indiegogo.

The band stopped by our Studio 1A for a rockin’ performance on Wednesday, August 7th, right here on KUTX!
