Since the release of their summery 2009 album “Con-Law”, Generationals have been making quite a splash in the indie-pop music scene. The duo, made up of Ted Joyner and Grant Widmer, hail from New Orleans, though their new album “Heza” is the first album that they actually recorded in their hometown. Instead of recording in a studio, the band lugged their equipment all around the city, recording in friends’ kitchens, basement apartments, and empty houses. Their hard work paid off, as “Heza”, chock-full of emotionally complex lyrics and melodic hooks, is an enjoyable listen sure to keep your head bopping. The band put on a great performance in our Studio 1A yesterday – take a listen!
