“Trio Los Vigilantes was formed in the late 1990’s with the idea of transporting their listeners to the days of yesteryear, of Caballeros y Damas, recreating the romance of La Epoca de Oro…The Golden Age.” Founding member, Isaac Peña grew up inspired by his father who had his own trio in the 50’s. When Isaac met Luis Angel Ibañez, the two bonded over their love for Bolero music, which eventually led to the formation of Los Vigilantes. They both knew that while the popularity of Bolero music was dimming, there were many out there who shared their love for Bolero music and would appreciate their modern interpretation of it. Both men were Baritone singers, but knew a high Tenor was needed to complete their vocal harmonies. That’s when the third member of the trio was added, John Pointer. Trio Los Vigilantes have recently joined forces again after a several year hiatus and they’ll be playing here Friday February 14 at 12 p.m.! They will also be playing that night at the Golden Age Orchestra, Stateside at the Paramount. Doors at 8, concert at 9.
