Psych rock band Unknown Mortal Orchestra is undoubtably the product of its main creative force, guitarist and vocalist Ruban Nielson. Since the band’s mysterious debut in 2010, with a single posted to Nielson’s Bandcamp without any note of who was behind it, Unknown Mortal Orchestra has been recording, touring and performing like the mad men that they are. Their second album, II, was just released a couple weeks ago, and it features more of the raw and intense psychedelic sounds now expected from the band. The new album goes a bit more in depth into the emotional side of the music, with Nielson having written many of the songs reflecting on a wild touring experience.
