Walker Lukens 9.18.17

Walker Lukens is wonderfully inventive, completely refreshing and sounds unlike anything else on the dial. Born in Houston, based in Austin, the alternative singer-songwriter released his first album in 2013. After meeting Spoon’s Jim Eno at a bar the pair began collaborating in the studio. Walker’s latest release, Tell It To The Judge, is the third brain-child of this pairing. The album has a caffeinated shaggy-pop vibe, the sort of geared up do-wop slapback that makes Walker so unique. His tracks are thick with hard-strummed guitars and indie-rock crooning; and the entire album is layered with a stylistically fuzzy production. Walker brought himself and his backing band, The Side Arms, to Studio 1A ahead of his release show at Waterloo Records.
